Legal Protection for Sacred Sites

  • Beth Padon

摘要

The Federal government has established many rules and regulations to protect Native American Sacred Sites, Places and Landscapes. These rules and regulations are derived from the US Constitution (especially the First and Fourteenth Amendments), from a trust responsibility required by treaties, and from Federal statues. This chapter provides some background on these rules and regulations in order to better understand the Federal role in protecting Sacred Sites, Places, and Landscapes.
