摘要

The success of pest management is directly influenced by the application technology. Stink bugs are important pests of various cultivated crops. In this chapter, we focus on soybean and maize, where pest management strategies should consider the unique characteristics of each crop. In the field, the routes by which insects are exposed to insecticides vary according to their mechanism of action (systemic or contact), insect growth stage (nymphs or adults), and insecticide type (chemical or biological). We discuss the increase in the use of fungi and bacteria, and address management practices to improve the performance of biological insecticides, either alone or in combination with chemical insecticides. The objective of this chapter is to elucidate the best practices for effective and efficient insecticide application in stink bug management in maize and soybean.
