Exploring Music Education Through Canadian Pre-Service Teachers’ Journey in China
摘要
This chapter delves into the experiences of two Canadian pre-service teachers, Taylor Pare and Alana Adlam, who took part in the Teacher Education Reciprocal Learning Program (RLP) between the University of Windsor (UW) in Canada and Southwest University (SWU) in China. Their journey began in the fall of 2018 and featured an international internship in China in the spring of 2019. Pare and Adlam, both music majors and friends prior to joining the RLP, embarked on this international educational adventure together. By participating in and observing music classes and events in various locations in China, they developed a more comprehensive understanding of comparative music education between Canada and China. These reciprocal learning opportunities and musical experiences deepened their appreciation for music and culture on an international scale, contributing to their development as globally minded educators.
