Reciprocal Learning From and For Teacher Education: Reflections and Looking into the Future

摘要

This chapter reflects on the Reciprocal Learning Project (RLP) between Canada and China, highlighting its success in fostering reflective abilities and intercultural understanding among pre-service teachers. The chapter discusses the evolution of reciprocity within the project, emphasizing cultural respect, transformative mentoring and diverse reflections. It explores cross-cultural, intercultural and transcultural learning, and advocates for future studies to understand educational practices and identities. This chapter promotes interdisciplinarity, intergenerational learning, and sustainability in teacher education, suggesting expansions to include STEM/STEAM and Global North-South collaborations. The chapter concludes with insights on human agency, leadership succession and sustaining the RLP’s culture and knowledge amidst leadership changes.
