Nanocomposites Derived from Chitosan for Biosensor Applications

This chapter presents the most recent developments in creating and using nanocomposite biosensors based on chitosan. We have shown that the synthesis and creation of nanoparticles (NP) and nanocomposite materials (NC) with adjustable sizes, morphologies, compositions, and functions results in the tailoring of many characteristics that considerably enhance the sensing capability of modified electrodes (ME). It detailed how these nanostructured composites may sense physiologically significant analytes like cholesterol, glucose, dopamine, hydrogen peroxide, and urea. Additionally, the most recent research demonstrates that chitosan-based biosensors made of polymers, nanoparticles, and hybrid composites process measurements quickly, simply, durably, and accurately, opening up exciting new possibilities for advancing biosensor capabilities.
