Polymer Blend Nanocomposites Are Analogs to Natural Polymers

摘要

The distinctive characteristics of polymer blend nanocomposites arise from incorporating diverse polymers and nanoparticles. These materials have promising prospects for use across many industries, including automotive, aerospace, and biomedical sectors. Compared to conventional polymer mixes, they have enhanced mechanical, thermal, and electrical characteristics. Moreover, these entities’ improved performance can potentially drive progress in other fields, including material science and engineering. The structure and behavior of polymer blend nanocomposites, which imitate natural polymers, are the subject of this study's investigation. We aim to improve the mechanical, thermal, and barrier characteristics of polymer blends for various industrial uses by adding nanoparticles. This chapter briefly overviews the many forms of natural polymers, including cellulose, chitin, starch, soy protein, hemicelluloses, and alginates. This chapter highlights possible uses for polymer blends and composites made from renewable resources and discusses recent advancements in this field. Over the last decade, various blends and composites have been developed to address the expensive nature of synthetic biodegradable polymers or to enhance the inadequate mechanical properties of polymers obtained from renewable resources.
