Transnational Innovators: Indian Immigrants in Shaping Entrepreneurship in the U.S. Tech Sector

  • Roli Varma

摘要

This chapter delves into the evolving landscape of entrepreneurship within the technology industry, particularly focusing on the contributions made by immigrants in the United States. It elucidates how immigrants are not only initiating technology startups but also actively engaging in various facets of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. This involvement spans investment, collaboration, resource management, knowledge dissemination, and the utilization of technical acumen derived from their countries of origin. Through an exploration of the experiences of Indian immigrants, the chapter illuminates the shifting dynamics of entrepreneurship shaped by transnational migration. Moreover, it posits that this phenomenon marks a divergence from traditional models of economic development, where technology companies were predominantly responsible for driving entrepreneurial endeavors. Instead, it underscores the increasingly interconnected nature of entrepreneurship on a global scale, wherein immigrants play a pivotal role in fostering innovation and fueling growth within the technology sector in the United States.
