Becoming an Exile Through Crawling

As an activist and a journalist, Leyla Helen Uyar has found herself in the ways of exile and later in Germany. Trying to survive in exile with lots of challenges and traumas, she lost her city Antakya in the earthquake in 2023. In this chapter, Uyar shares her experiences of exile, earthquake and the long path of building something new out of the wreckage of her past. The feeling of forced migration, intertwined with the political analysis of the current conditions journalists face in the pursuit of truth-seeking, is conveyed to us through the pen of a journalist.
