Ubuntu, Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Justice
摘要
Through their corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, businesses as important social players have an intricate role to play in protecting and promoting the principles of social justice within the jurisdictions in which they operate. The principles espoused in Ubuntu amplify the role of businesses and place social justice at the centre of CSR. While the responsibility of businesses to society has been explored from various theoretical perspectives, such as the instrumental approach, which view social responsibility from the benefits that accrue to business; the political approach, which explores CSR from the social power of business, by identifying some links between the principles of Ubuntu and social justice, this chapter seeks to approach CSR from an ethical dimension.
