The 1543 Fabrica

The Fabrica is the most famous book of anatomy, yet much about its creation and the production process has remained unclear. Vesalius’ skills and his involvement with the printing process are here discussed in detail, including a new suggestion about his relationship with his artists and the way in which his anatomical and his artistic interests interact.
