摘要

The professional preparation of school psychologists has a significant impact on the future of school psychology services. Scholarship in school psychology has continuously demonstrated the importance of providing multicultural and transnational training to preservice school psychologists. This chapter features the results of analyses of data from 85 different school psychology programs in 24 countries featuring different psychology training models. Leading scholars and professionals in their respective countries provided important insights into multicultural and international training challenges faced by trainers and possibilities for advancing the field in a collaborative effort. Key findings address (1) demographic characteristics, (2) multicultural and international training provision and philosophy, (3) training format and content, (4) associations among demographic characteristics and program emphasis, and (5) the results of qualitative analyses. This study extends the ongoing efforts that endeavor to advance cross-national understanding among school psychologists and also contributes to the effort in preparing school psychologists with multicultural and international competencies.
