The nose extends from the anterior nares to the posterior nasal septum, demonstrating a complicated nerve and blood supply and a particular relationship to the nasopharynx (opening via the posterior nasal apertures or choanae). Appreciation of its blood supply is of clinical importance in the management of severe epistaxis.
