Discovering African Communication Concepts in Cultural Practices

In this chapter I offer a heuristic toward a possible solution to cultural contradictions in contemporary communication studies. My aim is both an interrogation and a suggestion. In communication what matters is that practice works within the framework of the culture presenting the theory. Of course, this is why we have most communication theorists working out of the Western frame of reference. It is difficult to ignore one’s training or the language, myths, and memes of sciences, arts, and humanities that comprise our education.
