摘要

The gearbox transmission system is complex, and the vibration signal generated by gear meshing contains many modulation phenomena. Demodulation analysis based gear fault diagnosis plays an import role in gearbox condition monitoring. However, the fault signatures from meshing frequencies and their sidebands are not reliable in a wide range of operating conditions. Consequently, resonant modulation and demodulation analysis attracts many researchers for effective gear fault detection and diagnosis as the resonant frequencies are barely influenced by the operating speeds and loads, which makes resonant modulation signals uniquely advantageous in gear fault diagnosis. The resonant frequency band contains rich fault characteristics, and the selection of an optimal resonance demodulation frequency band has a great impact on the accuracy and reliability of gear fault diagnosis. To the best of the authors knowledge, the resonant modulation based gear fault diagnosis has not been summarized systematically. In this paper, the resonance demodulation approaches for diagnosing gear defects are summarized to give insightful understanding of current progress, technical problems and potential solutions.
