The Role of PROMs in Mitigating Infectious Disease Crises: A Healthy Ageing Perspective
摘要
The Decade of Healthy Ageing (2021–2030) places a special emphasis on the Integrated Care for Older People (ICOPE) plan, which is an essential component in controlling infectious disease crises. This chapter examines the WHO Global Strategy and Action Plan on Ageing and Health, highlighting the main goals, difficulties, and achievements in meeting the multiple needs of older adults. The chapter intends to highlight the practical implications of the Decade of Healthy Ageing in promoting proactive healthcare for older adults through evidence-based decision-making and adaptable techniques using Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs). Furthermore, the chapter aims to discuss the significance of PROMs and examine the impact of PROMs on the well-being of the ageing population during infectious disease outbreaks. The chapter thoroughly examines the innovative approaches and difficulties related to ageing, health, and infectious illnesses in the modern world.
