Communication Protocols for Internet of Medical Things (IoMT)
摘要
IoT technology is combined with healthcare services through the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) to provide real-time, remote patient monitoring and treatment. Nevertheless, because vital medical equipment is interconnected with other systems at different network tiers, distant enemies have additional options to attack. It is necessary to categorise the existing IoT connection technologies according to security because most communication protocols have not been particularly created to meet the requirements of linked medical devices. We categorise IoT communication protocols in this chapter based on how they are used in IoMT. The essential features of IoT communication protocols utilised at the perception, network, and application layers of medical devices are then covered in this chapter. Moreover, the communication protocols which are generally used in their classifications with their architectures, framework, and limitations have been included in this chapter. The importance of IoMT has been increased when the 5G and beyond 5G networks are implemented through 3GPP standards. The monitoring and observation of any patient far away from the doctor’s side are possible due to the communication set-up and reliable data transmission. At last, this chapter has concluded with recent case studies of communication networks in the healthcare field.
