摘要

The Autonomous Navigation System (ANS) is engineered to undertake route planning, route following, and collision avoidance, functions traditionally performed by human navigators. This chapter presents a system configuration that integrates statutory navigation equipment, including Radar, ECDIS, Autopilot, and BMS, with Artificial Intelligence to enhance perception, decision-making, and control. The ANS comprises several advanced modules: a situation awareness module utilizing computer vision and deep learning, a 360-degree real-time surround view monitoring module for berthing and narrow channel navigation, an onshore fleet management module, and a route following and collision avoidance module. Despite the delegation of perception, decision-making, and control tasks to the system, with humans retaining overall responsibility, the proposed ANS has empirically demonstrated significant benefits in enhancing navigation safety, increasing navigator convenience, reducing fuel consumption, and decreasing carbon emissions.
