摘要
In this first chapter of Part II, readers are introduced to the interviewees associated with their museums. With the exception of two who chose to remain anonymous, those interviewed are named, facilitating a conversational style throughout the discussions. This chapter bridges Parts I and II of the book, situating the interviewees within their museums and the exhibits described in earlier chapters. It introduces the interviewees’ perspectives on their roles and their museums, including aspects of decision making and changes in exhibits over time. Questions include the following: How do curators and staff decide what to include in exhibits? Who makes these decisions? What are the most important points to convey in human evolution exhibits? Answers include consideration of the differing missions of the museums and the desire to provide visitors with unique experiences.
