This chapter describes age-related changes to our sensory systems: smell, taste, vision, touch, and hearing. The changing brain of dementia adds a heightened layer of challenges. Understanding those challenges will aid in being a compassionate caregiver. This chapter provides tips and techniques for determining the best course of action when providing care.
