摘要

Unilateral coronal craniosynostosis (UCS, anterior plagiocephaly) is the second most common type of craniosynostosis and the coronal suture is commonly affected in genetic syndromes with involvement of multiple sutures. Recent advancements in genetic profiling have identified various mutations associated with craniosynostosis. Early diagnosis via meticulous physical examination and adjuvant imaging is imperative to timely intervention. Surgical options include endoscopic-assisted suturectomy or open orbitofrontal advancement, each of which varies with respect to the optimal timing for intervention and corresponding safety profile.
