Evaluation Tools for Craniosynostosis

Craniosynostosis assessment historically was largely subjective and relied on radiation-exposing computed tomography. Efforts to develop objective evaluation tools free of ionizing radiation have provided new tools to characterize preoperative cranial vault deformity and postoperative correction. In this chapter, we describe the evolution of these assessment tools and discuss their clinical application, with an emphasis on advancements in the realm of scaphocephaly and trigonocephaly.
