Technical Tips for Surgery in Older Children
摘要
A subset of patients may present with signs and symptoms of craniosynostosis in a delayed manner. Additionally, revision surgery may be indicated for older patients with recurrent issues of cranial shape or volume. In this chapter, the authors discuss the unique set of challenges required for surgical assessment and intervention in patients presenting at an older age. Technical tips are highlighted to promote safe decision-making and surgical care, including an overview of clinical presentation and technical considerations. Pearls and pitfalls are further discussed relevant to reconstructive techniques for common forms of craniosynostosis.
