摘要

Anesthesia for repair of craniosynostosis is associated with known risks. Syndromatic patients, surgery for multiple suture craniosynostosis, and younger infants have increased risk. To reduce risk, it is imperative that the child’s comorbid conditions are optimized preoperatively. It is essential that intraoperatively positioning is meticulous; large bore intravenous access, blood and fluid resuscitation is prepared; and blood conservation strategies are implemented. Postoperatively, careful attention must be paid to ensure adequate analgesia.
