ENT and Craniosynostosis
摘要
The pediatric ENT surgeon is an important member of the multidisciplinary team in charge of patients with craniostenosis (CS). Indeed, given the frequency and potential severity of respiratory and hearing disorders in children with CS, annual visits to the ENT with upper airway flexible endoscopy and hearing tests are recommended. Airway pathologies in children with CS can be at different levels: nasal, pharyngeal, or tracheal. Management of respiratory disorders is based on medical treatment and, in some severe cases, surgery. Regular otoscopy and hearing tests are also mandatory due to various pathologies of the middle and/or inner ear associated with CS.
