Education and Entrepreneurial Intention at an Early Age. Bibliometric Analysis 2013–2023

Entrepreneurship has acquired a particular interest during the last decades, especially in economic matters, due to its great influence in the generation of jobs, new companies and, therefore, its contribution to the economy. This paper shows a brief development of the theory, as well as the different topics of analysis that have arisen regarding entrepreneurship, from discovering the interests and motivations of the entrepreneur to the evaluation of the models that promote it. This study conducts an exploratory research in order to analyze the lines of research trends on the influence of education on entrepreneurial intention, particularly in young people. The research is presented through a bibliometric analysis on the production found in the Web of Science database particularly in a period between 2013 and 2023. The findings are discussed and future lines of research on the topic are suggested. Finally, it is found that there is still much work to be done on what is already a reality for many countries, mainly research on entrepreneurial education on its impact and performance to motivate the intention or development of entrepreneurial skills at an early age.
