Enhancing Anaerobic Digestion with the Addition of Conductive Materials
摘要
The application of anaerobic digestion technology in organic waste treatment has been increasingly emphasized, but its practical application is limited due to its susceptibility to factors such as microbial inhibition and increased organic loading. Conductive materials can be used as effective additives to enhance microbial activity, increase the efficiency of electron transfer, ensure the stability of the anaerobic digestion system, and improve the efficiency of anaerobic digestion. However, the use of conductive materials is limited by high operating cost, increased process complexity, and poor material stability. These limitations can be effectively addressed by modifying the surface of conductive materials, optimizing the preparation process and material structure, and exploring cost-effective raw materials. The influencing factors and application constraints of anaerobic digestion, the mechanism of conductive materials to enhance anaerobic digestion, the limitations and challenges of conductive materials in the application of anaerobic digestion, and the proposed feasible solutions were comprehensively summarized. Conductive materials can improve the stability and processing efficiency of the anaerobic digestion system and promote the development of anaerobic digestion technology, which will bring new opportunities in the field of organic waste treatment and provide sustainable solutions for environmental protection and resource recovery.
