摘要

Non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) play crucial regulatory roles in plant biology but have mostly been studied in model species. Research on ncRNAs in a broader range of plants is essential for understanding species evolution. ncRNAs regulate plant development, growth, and stress responses by targeting specific nucleic acids. They include microRNAs (miRNAs), small interfering RNAs (siRNAs), and long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), all vital for stress tolerance. Recent studies have expanded their known roles beyond development and stress. Future research should focus on validating specific ncRNA functions. The potential of ncRNAs in creating transgenes for stress resistance and improved crop yield is promising. This exploration could uncover new ncRNAs and enhance our understanding of existing ones. Expanding ncRNA research is vital for unlocking their full potential.
