Educational Intervention on Children’s Digital Media Use: Empowering Caregivers, Healthcare Professionals, and Educators

Many adults who care for children often find themselves uncertain about how to manage the use of digital media with infants and toddlers. While scientific evidence may not be easily understandable to everyone, there is currently little research available on disseminating scientific information regarding the early use of digital media in Brazil. The purpose of this chapter is to present and evaluate the implementation of an educational intervention focused on digital media usage during early childhood. This intervention follows a model of continuous education and was assessed based on the participants’ learning outcomes and overall satisfaction with the course. The course was conducted in two formats: in-person and online/asynchronous. The in-person intervention involved 16 participants, while the online version attracted 94 adults, predominantly from the health and education sectors. The results were promising, indicating differences in learning outcomes following both versions of the course, thereby supporting the development of new initiatives to disseminate knowledge on this subject.
