SEGRA-BOT: Autonomous Waste Pickup and Sorting Robot
摘要
In response to the escalating crisis of plastic pollution, there arises an urgent need for autonomous waste management solutions. Enter our innovative robot, powered by a Raspberry Pi 4B and Arduino Uno. Equipped with a camera module and ultrasonic sensor, this robotic marvel autonomously detects and classifies plastic waste. To identify waste, position itself optimally for collection, and employ a rotating collector mechanism for efficient retrieval. This technological breakthrough not only addresses immediate pollution concerns but also streamlines waste management processes by reducing the reliance on manual intervention. With a sophisticated working mechanism integrating image capture, OpenCV analysis, and sensor-based adjustments, the Segra-Bot stands as a promising initiative towards a cleaner, more sustainable environment. Envisioned as an advanced waste collection system, it aims to independently identify and collect plastic waste through a comprehensive process involving detection, categorization, object alignment, distance adjustment, and pickup operations. Comprising essential components such as a Raspberry Pi 4B, Arduino Uno, camera module, ultrasonic sensor, and gear motors, the Segra Bot embodies a scalable solution to the pressing environmental challenge posed by plastic pollution.
