Psychoeducation and Community Treatment Through Interfamily Therapy: A New Psychoeducational Paradigm

The authors review and question the traditional psychoeducational model and introduce us to the proposal of interfamily therapy as an alternative form of psychoeducation. They compare both models and analyse how interfamily psychoeducation works, describing aspects related to the positioning of the interfamily professional, the content of the sessions and the concept of expressed emotion brought to the multifamily group. Finally, they compare the richness of the contributions of the family versus those of the professionals in the interfamily psychoeducational space.
