Multifamily Therapies

After a brief critical review of how the Western mental health system works, the authors propose multifamily therapy as an alternative model for dealing with human problems that lies somewhere between psychotherapeutic and social intervention. They define the concept of “multifamily therapy” and introduce us to its historical background, its frameworks of application and its general theoretical aspects. They then outline various models of multifamily therapy and introduce the model of “interfamily therapy” with its theoretical and methodological specificities.
