Acute Abdomen

Acute abdomen is a dreadful condition, which brings individuals to the emergency department. The word acute means that this condition must be treated immediately before it escalates and leads to a fatal result. The abdomen is a vast area of the body and includes many organs, which diseases/disturbances can manifest as an acute situation. Anatomically the abdomen is delimited by costal margins superiorly and inferiorly by the symphysis of the pubis plus pelvic bones.
