Gas Transport in Nanoporous Shale

Despite the advancements in horizontal drilling and multi-stage hydraulic fracturing, which have enabled the economic development of shale gas, accurately predicting its production remains a major challenge (Moghanloo & Javadpour, 2014; Daigle, 2016; Sun et al., 2017). One of the key areas that requires further attention is the precise modeling of gas transport in the nanoporous shale, as it forms the theoretical foundation for numerical simulation and production forecasting (Wu et al., 2016a; Zhang et al., 2017).
