摘要

Shale reservoirs generally have a certain amount of initial water saturation, which occupies the adsorption space and subsequently influences the adsorption and transport capacity of gaseous methane. This may lead to contradictions between gas content and productivity of shale gas reservoirs, as well as significant differences in development performances between marine/continental shale gas reservoirs (Dai et al., 2019; Zhang et al., 2021b; Dondg et al., 2016; Yao et al., 2013). Therefore, it is necessary to reveal the influence of initial reservoir water saturation on methane occurrence in the pore networks of shale.
