Nonlinear Analysis of Dielectric Elastomer Actuator

摘要

The present work discusses the nonlinear dynamics of the dielectric elastomer based actuator considering the inertia, geometry and damping. Both the constant and time-varying voltages are considered in order to get the static and dynamic response. Lagrange equation is used to derive the governing equation of motion and the solution is obtained using numerical integration technique. The potential energy behaviour of the system is presented. Further, the impact of initial condition and damping on the equilibrium state achieved is also described. The dynamic response whether periodic, quasiperiodic or chaotic is described using the time response, phase plot and Poincare section. The influence of parameters on the dynamic response in also explored.
