The Application of High-Resolution Ultrasound in Dermatology
摘要
High-resolution ultrasonographyHigh-resolution ultrasonography (HRUS) (HRUS), also known as high-frequency ultrasonography, is a safe, non-invasive, and rapid method of imaging the epidermis and dermis. HRUS uses high-frequency sound waves, usually in the range of 2–12 MHz, to obtain high resolution images. It is useful for not only diagnosis, but also for monitoring and treating dermatologic conditions. Applications of HRUS include assessing melanomaMelanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer, inflammatory skin conditionsInflammatory skin conditions, systemic disorders, and vascular lesions. It is also routinely used to visualize structural landmarks when performing dermatologic procedures such as fillers. In this chapter, we discuss these standard and novel applications of high-resolution ultrasonography in dermatologyDermatology.
