Helix Theory in Triangulated Categories

In this Section we recall basic facts about exceptional objects and collections, more general semiorthogonal decompositions in triangulated categories as well as about the operations of mutations naturally defined on these objects. Without claim to completeness and originality, our aim is to give a summary, self-contained as much as possible, of the so-called Helix theory in triangulated categories as developed in algebraic geometry literature.
