Grandfather
摘要
The chapter presents the theme of the book with the story of how I learnt as a law student that my respectable grandfather had been convicted of a crime in his past, and how this lead me to the search of the relationship between law and the labor movement of the nineteen twenties. This uncovered a fascinating story about the effects of civil disobedience against unjust majoritarian decisions within liberal democracy and the workings of a legal complex to defend the autonomy of law against partisan legislation.
