Public Transit Zero Emissions Bus Applications: Battery and Electric Bus Comparison in a Canadian Case Study

  • Josipa G. Petrunić

摘要

Within this context, in 2019, the Canadian Urban Transit Research and Innovation Consortium (CUTRIC) engaged in a series of predictive planning and implementation studies for zero-emission public transit buses. The following study documents the predicted outcomes associated the an anonymized Canadian city, which owns a mid-sized public transit agency of approximately 400 buses. This city is exemplary and representative of Canadian public transit agencies that serve major cities—large enough to face the constraints of high-growth fostered by immigration to Canada but doing so within an environment in which sufficient public transit infrastructure has not been built out to serve the current needs, let alone ridership growth needs.
