Controlling Pollution and Damage to the Marine Environment

The marine environment encompasses the world’s seas and oceans. Humans have benefited from the seas and oceans in a variety of ways. The maritime environment is one of the global commons and must be protected by the international community. Over the years, efforts for the protection of the marine environment have been made. Discussions in the chapter focus on the use of both international and domestic legal instruments established thereto to control and manage the pollution of the marine environment.
