Remedies in Addressing
摘要
Where environmental damage has occurred, the law requires some remedial measures to heal the ill feelings of the victims and compensate for the damage they had suffered as a result. In seeking redress for environmental damage, various remedies are available to the victims. Such remedies include compensation, restraining order of a court, abatement, injunctions, damages, reparation, restitution, rehabilitation/restoration and application of the polluter-pays principle. These remedies are discussed in this chapter and are focused mainly on cases from the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
