Consumers use energy every day in a variety of areas of their daily lives, and some home appliances, such as air conditioners, heating systems, refrigerators, and electric ovens, consume the highest levels of energy. Appliances designed for energy efficiency, such as refrigerators and washing machines, have the potential to diminish greenhouse gas emissions, minimize water consumption, and decrease reliance on fossil fuels and oils. These initiatives collectively contribute to the effort to combat global climate change and lower carbon emissions. Hence, it is crucial to investigate consumers’ intention to buy these appliances. This research employs a comprehensive model based on the theories of planned behavior and environmental awareness. The objective of this research is to explore the association between consumers’ attitude, perceived behavioral control, and intentions to buy environmentally friendly home appliances and to further determine how environmental awareness influences this. For this study, data were gathered data through a questionnaire survey, receiving 300 responses, and data analysis was carried out using Regression, Chi Square, and partial least squares. The findings of the study reveal that consumers’ intention to purchase energy-efficient home appliances is positively influenced by their attitude toward making such purchases. This attitude of consumers is positively influenced by subjective norms and environmental awareness that motivates the consumers to purchase energy-efficient home appliances in the UAE. The research results offer suggestions for stimulating consumer intention to purchase energy-efficient household appliances in the UAE.
