Online and hybrid education gained worldwide popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic and continues to do so even today. This study is an attempt to conduct scientific mapping through bibliometric analysis. The most significant writers, publications, journals, and various other associations in the field of online and hybrid education have been identified in our study. According to keyword research, online and hybrid education has been extensively used in a variety of fields over the past 5 years, including information systems, digital education, and information and communication technology. The findings reported here contribute to the scientific definition of “online and hybrid learning” as well as the assessment of the term’s increasing significance over time. We now have a thorough understanding of the primary indicators of the published literature, including their evolution over time and the dates of the initial articles’ publication. In our study, we chose to use several of the primary indicators found in the literature: the world’s leading journals on online and hybrid learning as determined by their global impact, the number of publications, and the correlation between citation indicators (used to measure the impact of a publication) and the structure of general higher education. The most frequently covered topics can be identified by keyword analysis, and multidisciplinary studies have been found to have the most impact.
