摘要

The convergence of marine resource utilization and biomedical innovation (commonly referred to as the blue bioeconomy) represents an exciting direction in which we can use this synergy to solve pressing global health challenges and boost sustainable economic development. This research investigates the basic elements, banes, and facilitators of the blue bioeconomy. Sustainability and conservation are put forward as crucial demands in the study that identifies the threats from overexploitation, habitat degradation, and climate change to marine biodiversity and ecosystems. It takes the frameworks for regulations and intellectual property rights into account, highlighting nicely the fine line between innovation promotion, environment protection, and fair benefit-sharing. Moreover, the study examines the boosting technologies for the so-called blue bioeconomy developments, specifically emphasizing the relevance of high-throughput screening, omics technology, and biomimetic design in using marine resources for biomedicine. The study serves a dominant role in bringing up this interdisciplinary field linked to the blue bioeconomy and biomedical innovation. Several points that have emerged as an outcome justify the need for sustainable practices, stringent governance, and technological innovations to maximize the benefits of the blue bioeconomy and help prevent its negative environmental and social impacts. This study spells out the recommendations for policymakers, stakeholders, and researchers to achieve the sustainable development of the blue bioeconomy. These recommendations involve implementing ecosystem-based management approaches, regulating framework reinforcement, and facilitating collaborative research efforts. Ultimately, the research demonstrates the likelihood of the blue bioeconomy to play a vital role in the evolution of global health and environmental affairs and consequently in the creation of effective economic growth. Adhering to the principles of sustainability, equity, and innovation, the blue bioeconomy could be a new form of change, and the preservation of marine resources for future generations would be a driving force.
