Blue bioeconomy also known as ocean economy is a sector embracing various economic activities related to aquatic and marine resources, significantly holding potential for sustainable economic growth and environmental stewardship worldwide. However, the exploitation of marine resources must be conducted within a regulatory framework that ensures environmental protection, social equity, and economic viability. This chapter provides an in-depth analysis of global regulations governing the blue bioeconomy, highlighting key opportunities and challenges for stakeholders involved in marine resource utilization.
