Plasmabridge: Connecting Blood and Plasma Donors with Hospitals

In every human being, both blood and plasma are important fluids that circulate throughout the body. Without these fluids, the human body cannot function. If an emergency situation arises (i.e., accidents, pregnancy, burn and shock patients, etc.), acquiring the donor information is a tedious process. When a patient requires blood, hospitals contact various blood banks, which may put the patient’s health condition at risk. By considering this situation, we develop an online blood and plasma management system that will connect various hospitals to a centralized donor database. This system also enables needy patients to easily obtain an instant donor through the hospital rather than contacting multiple blood banks and one donor at a time. Using this system, various hospitals can access a common donor database to collect both needed blood and plasma at the time of need rather than waiting for it from various blood banks, saving time and reducing stress for the patient’s relatives or friends.
