Strategies for Project Design

In this chapter, I offer a step-by-step guide for creative research project design using my TDVY performance Atmosphere (2020) as a case study. I discuss early childhood development markers and how they connect to TDVY, as well as the selection of a research method and production concept. I then examine benefits, challenges, and strategies in selecting a research site and finding research participants. I also discuss the process of seeking out a creative team of artist-researchers for the project and practical logistics such as structuring spaces and mapping a production timeline.
