This paper presents results from fatigue analysis material of a railway axle forging produced by the skew rolling method in a CNC rolling mill designed at the Lublin University of Technology. The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) solution used allows for a controlled execution of the tools movement sequence. As a result, it is possible to obtain any elongated stepped product with a single tool set. A great advantage of skew rolling is the efficiency of the process, as well as the occurrence of significantly lower forces compared to other metal forming technologies. Given the advantages of skew rolling, tests were undertaken to produce a 1:5 scale railway axle in a CNC skew rolling mill. EA1N material was used for testing and the rolling process was carried out at 1180 °C. The railway axes were then subjected to a heat treatment (normalising annealing). In the analysis carried out on the resulting railway axles, the results of fatigue tests under a complex stress state, i.e. bending and torsion loading, are presented. The obtained values of the fatigue analysis of the material of the railway axle forging were referred to the EN 1326:2021-02 standard for the production of railway axles. Based on the fatigue results obtained, it was found that the railway axle forging rolled in a CNC skew rolling mill meets the fatigue assumptions for the railway axle contained in EN 1326:2021-02.
