Analysis of the Causes of Packer Failure in Production Operations Based on the Three-Dimensional Envelope Curve of the Packer

摘要

The safe operation of the packer is crucial to drilling construction and stable production. Effective analysis of the safe service strength of the packer in production operations is the key to improving production efficiency. However, the packer is subject to complex forces in the complex underground environment, resulting in the packer being unable to work effectively under the rated safe use intensity. Scholars have proposed a two-dimensional packer envelope curve to determine the safety range of the packer, but have not yet proposed a three-dimensional packer envelope curve in the working environment. This paper uses the finite element simulation method to simulate the stress conditions of the packer’s rubber cylinder, slips and central pipe, and analyzes the stress conditions of the packer during the production operation. Assuming the damage function of different components over time, draw and Time-dependent packer three-dimensional envelope curves. The results show that the three-dimensional envelope curve of the packer can effectively analyze the safe service strength of the packer under working conditions, and can also analyze the relationship between the packer’s ultimate operating range and time. This research can provide help for the optimal design of oilfield on-site production plans.
