A Review on Maintenance Repair, Refurbish, and Overhaul for Reusable Launch Vehicle Management Process Toward Its Development
摘要
This research reviews the application of reusable launch vehicles (RLV) technology in the maintenance, repair, refurbish, and overhaul (MRRO) operations. The current MRO of aircrafts, including structures, engines, and systems, will adhere to the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). This will follow in accordance with standard approval for aircraft and components maintenance organizations, Part 145 for aircraft maintenance organization (AMO). This research intends to study the reusable launch vehicle (RLV) maintenance program outline in adaptation to the current MRO industry for launch vehicles in Malaysia. The research method includes an evaluation of the questionnaires given to the aviation and aerospace industries in Malaysia. This questionnaire was developed to provide industry insight into important considerations for the operations and maintenance of RLVs. The outcome of this study also addresses the parameters that can be used in the further analysis for the development on space-related activities, including the RLV and the feasibility study for the commercial launch platform in Malaysia.
